Are you planning on being more organized for 2015? I am on a perpetual loop of organized-no not organized-back to organized…. One area I was really lacking in was in keeping track of my guided math groups! I finally got myself ready to go for 2015.
This is what it looked like in my kitchen this morning…
I laminated the section dividers and hole punched them as is so they could work as cute matching dividers for me.{another design available too}
These guide pages are a quick reference to the skills required for my first graders. I organized them and added the bloom’s verb because that is what drives the activity that I plan in small group. I am a firm believer in the student being as hands on as possible when it comes to math. This Blooms Verb helps me adjust the activity to fit the level of Blooms required. It actually helps my planning! I need to be sure they are creating and that I am not always generating the numbers and problems! The skills sheets for all first grade concepts are included.
I went ahead and planned my first week. We will be working on 2-D Shapes so as I planned my small group, I highlighted what would be covered and wrote in which days… {nerd alert}
In the student data section I have a page to keep track of how students work on the skills covered for each concept, as well as a divider for each student for any other notes I want to keep. I clipped the page for 2D shapes so I can begin to take note of how students understand the concepts.
For those students that I need to closely monitor, I have special sheets to make my documentation easier. This way I don’t have it on 5 different post its all over my desk!
If you think this little binder will be a help to you too, you can grab it by clicking the picture below!
If you don’t teach first grade, but want the binder too I have removed the standards sheets and reduced the price! You can find it here!
If you are working on 2D and 3D shapes in the winter too, I just made a unit with 11 different centers to rock out during guided math!

Oh my! I love this! Will this be available on TPT??
Yes it is. The picture second from the bottom will take you to it. Thanks Shannon!
Hi! Is it editable or are you willing to create one for 2nd grade? Do you use it mostly for documentation/evidence or do you use it at a table everyday??
Thanks!
Cheryl
Hi Cheryl,
I made one for any grade level and placed the link in the post above! I use it for planning and documentation. 🙂
This looks so awesome!!! Will you please make one for reading too!
Is there one for kinder? This is aewsome
Hello! I have added a link in the post to a binder for any grade level! 🙂
Looks great! I would love it if there was one for reading too.
Wow! This looks so amazing – thank you for sharing your brilliant ideas 🙂

I'm just starting groups in reading once we get back (I'm in kdg). Our schedule makes it hard to do both math and reading. I love the lesson planning pages though (great for any subject). Would you be willing to share a page as a freebie? Thanks. I will be reading/following to see how you manage this.
I have added a binder for any grade level. The link is in the post above.
How inspirational this post is!

This is very inspiring! I am curious to know about the breakdown of skills on the standards page – is it something you came up with on your own, something that comes from your curriculum, or from another source. I think it would be very helpful in my 2nd grade classroom.
PS – I love everything you create! I wish I was able to create like you do!
I LOVE this! So organized! Can't wait to try this out when I get my classroom. 🙂

Pretty please, tell me you're making one like this for Guided Reading, too! We don't do Guided Math, but Guided Reading is a huge focus for us and I'd adore help with becoming more organized. By the way, I teach in Boerne ISD, so I'm like your teaching neighbor!
I really love how you have organized this. I did a great job with guided math last year and moved away from it this year when I switched grades. What groups do you have for your guided math? I used BUILD but I may want to switch it up some since I am in a higher grade this year.
Could you please tell me what laminator you use? I would think it was durable since you laminate pretty much everything.
Wow! Love this. Any chance you have something similar to organize guided reading? I'd love to use the same sort of system for both….I've checked your TPT store and I don't see anything…did I miss it?
I see you don’t monetize your website, don’t waste your traffic, you can earn additional
bucks every month because you’ve got high quality content.

Hi! I couldn’t find this binder in your store. Is it no longer available? I bought the bundle of binders for guided math and reading, but when I opened the guided math, it wasn’t the same as this one is. Is there a way that you could include the guided math guide pages as an extension or update to the guided math binder you have on your TPT? I really like that component, but I didn’t see it included in the current binder. If not, I still really like the binder, and know that I will use it regularly to guide my instruction. Thank you for such amazing resources!
