We are halfway through the Christmas in July Sale and I am so excited because it is time to get into those math units that I love so dearly!
Each year I tend to focus on a certain area more than others and last year that focus was certainly in math.
I launched into guided math whole hardheartedly and never looked back! I love hands on math and I feel that without it students miss out on so much!
I have math centers for every month{and then some} but I also have some units that focus on one particular math concept.
Some special math units not in a bundle:
I love to start my small group math out with this unit. The games and printables are easy and interactive. Students are successful. I am able to get them into math centers on these pretty quickly after introducing them.
These math stick games are ongoing and versatile. You can write any numbers or equations on the sticks so they are perfect to use from the first day to the last day of school. Students can’t get enough of pulling sticks from a can. These 10 games are well loved in my room!
Around November, I bring out these games and my students love the use of all the manipulatives!
I have 4 fraction activities that involve shoes, candy, and student names!
With my spiraled review concepts I created monthly math center units to keep things fun and fresh. These are perfect for adding interest to spiraled review concepts. Seasonal clip art keeps the students motivated to play!
You can buy each of these separately or grab the bundle.
Tomorrow I will feature another component of guided math!

Hi Reagan! I was wondering where you got the spinners that you used for the coin game in the video? I have tried the pencil and paperclip thing but my kiddos seem to always write on the game boards and poke holes through them on "accident: 😉 I would like to try something new! I love your products and I own LOTS of them already! My kids them as well! Thanks for all you do and thank you for sharing!
Here's a way to get them! http://www.eaieducation.com/Product/525012/Transparent_Spinners_-_Set_of_5.aspx

Hi Reagan. Love your blogs! They really help me to get a picture of what I want to see happening in my classroom. I really like that you have the Math Practice Standards posted in Kid Friendly terms for students to read and process. Can I find a copy of these in your store?
Happy Blogging!
Yes! Here's a link to the first set of those math posters and I made 9 total sets. This one is free. 🙂 http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/A-Teachers-Math-Resource-Unit-1-Numeracy-free-739101
Hi Reagan,
Thank you for all of your wonderful math resources. I purchased your measurement unit last year to beef up my math curriculum. My kids absolutely loved it, and I really felt that they were getting the hands on experience they needed to fully understand the concept!

Thank you so much for sharing all your valuable tips and ideas! I enjoy reading your blog and all the products that you have created are so great for 1st grade! This year, I will be using guided math for the first time….a little bit nervous (and anxious) to get it started, but I CAN'T wait to see the results in students learning! I feel like this is going to be so much better than the traditional way we've been doing it!
I am so purchasing this bundle! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us 🙂
Ventaneando: A Window Into First Grade Bilingüe
Hi Reagan,
Thank you so much for all the wonderful products and tips you share with other teachers. I have been a follower of your blog for a a long time and really appreciate all you do! I do have a few questions about how you introduce your centers and how you manage/instruct your math groups. I currently use math groups/centers daily although our district is not following the Guided Math model. My first question is how/when do you teach the new centers? I find it so hard to find time to introduce the centers and practice with the students before letting them work independently with them. My second question is in regard to what you do when working with your small groups. Do you have a prescribed program or leveled math activities for each group? I really appreciate any tips/ideas you might share. Thanks again!
On Monday I teach the 5 centers we will do that week. Many times they are what we have already been doing in small group so it doesn't take much to explain. If it is a new concept I will take the time to go over it. Mondays we don't always get to all of our rotations because our lesson is longer. For small group I am working on our main concept but at differentiated levels for each group of students. I extend and enrich for those that are able, I teach right to the standard for those on grade level and sometimes I go back to basics for my kids that need to fill in gaps before moving on. It is a process. Start by using one activity for all the groups. As you teach each small group, the response you get from your group will guide your instruction. They will need you to break it down further or they will want you to give them more of a challenge. It will become more clear as you work with your students.
Hi Reagan,
Love your math centers! Do you have a set designed specifically for kindergarten?
Hi Reagan,(or should I shout Gidday!)
I am back with my class for Term 3 here in Australia and the kids are loving working on their Maths Journals and games. I am a softy for the beautiful layouts and fonts you use!!!! I just wish our money was the same! I need to edit them a little for our coins and notes. Love the Money spinner game. Thanks so much for all your inspiration.
Cheers!
Hi Reagan! Do you have any of these resources for 4th grade? Thanks Nikki!

Hi Reagan,
Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas! I have the same questions as Andrea Henne (July 20 comments).
