We just gifted our parents for Valentine’s Day in room 119! I received an email that inspired me to check out the TREAT website, I was excited at the chance to create gifts for my student’s families!
I let my students know that we would be creating a gift for our families for Valentine’s Day. We began by creating hearts to use as a backdrop.
After realizing that I could not run around to tie 7,000 ribbons through hearts, I quickly ripped a bag of pipe cleaners open (with my teeth) as 12 different Mrs. Tunstall’s can you tie my ribbons fired off around the room. ((stop judging)) I know you have had those sweaty room spinning moments when you realize your adorable well planned craft has turned on you IN A BAD WAY. Everyone can twist a pipe cleaner in to some sort of hanging contraption. whew crisis averted…
Here we are ready to head out and create a backdrop of love…
We headed out to the playground to set the scene!
I had visions of hanging our precious hearts on a lovely oak, however
the only green we could find on the playground was on Texas Cedar.
Texas cedar causes BIG allergy problems and is pretty much a completely
foul tree. Regardless, the students made the most precious cedar tree in Texas!
Student: “Mrs. Tunstall I think my eyes are burning off”
Me: “Smile baby! “Look cute for your family!” “Try not to think about it”
Each child took their turn in front of the camera.
I went online to treat and uploaded the pictures into a card for each student!
I also couldn’t resist ordering gifts for my family too! Such cute stuff!
OH MY CUTENESS!
To take it a step further, I capitalized on our letter writing objective by having each student write a letter to their family thanking them for all the love they are given all year long!
Once the letters were written I passed out the TREAT cards and melted as they saw themselves on their very own cards.
They loved discovering their own little logos on the back!
We got busy sealing and decorating the envelopes. Tooo cute!

Fab! Shutterfly used to have these bookmark shaped strips that had space for 3 pictures. It was a short-lived product. I wish it had caught on because they were so cute for little projects like this. Good to know I have an alternative! Caitlin (The-Room-Mom.com)
these are so cute!
