I created Picnic Pals Math Centers to accompany my Picnic Pals Literacy Centers and got them ready for our classroom!
We began by heading to the picnic “area”!
Here’s the student version. They get to create the checkered pattern on different sizes and shapes and record the area on a recording sheet! They love this!! {Contains more than what is shown}
We also made some place value punch with a dollar store pitcher and stirring spoon.
We were pretty hungry after that, so we made ourselves some number sentence sandwiches! {can do both addition and subtraction or focus just on one} {Can choose sums and differences within 10 or within 20}
Our sides were 2-D and 3-D Fruit Salad Shapes! So refreshing!!
Chips are a MUST at any picnic so we brought these chip clips along to help us with our numbers and operations. 🙂 {Choose your range within 10 or within 20 addition, subtraction, or both!}
We enjoyed putting ketchup and mustard on our hot dogs in the greater than less than design! Could this be more fun? {expo marker– not real ketchup and mustard!}
We even grilled up some fractions!
The ants showed up when the sweets came out. They showed us a thing or two about fact families.
Then we made our own book of fact families!
All 8 common core math centers above come with recording sheets. Most of them are cut and paste sorting activities that could also stand on their own.
It’s that time of year when they need to kick it up a notch on their responsibility and recording.
