Tunstall's Teaching Tidbits

Teaching with Heart and Creativity

My Spring Fling with Captain Obvious!

 I was in Wal-Mart over the weekend. and I happened upon their Easter aisles.  Well I did a little gasp and sprint when I saw these tubs for 97 cents!  Yes please and thank you very much!  I love my math containers but these tubs will bring an element of fun to our math and literacy activities!

I brought them home and introduced them to the family and pets.
We are in love.
{I am so sorry that my office appears to be yellow–it really isn’t}

 Next, I saw these!  PERFECT for game pieces!  The bunny trays are ten frames ya’ll! {I thought for sure they would have 12 holes for a dozen eggs but NO it’s ten!!!} My screams echoed through the pet and beauty aisles upon finding these!!!

I put two together to make a 20 frame!  {Captain obvious here- I am sure you can figure that out}

Or just one for a ten frame!
10-2= hoppy math!

Next I found these egg shaped bowls which will hold my spring manipulatives!!

These foam pieces are great for small group when I am working on missing addend or subtraction!  I can already see their excitement when doing math just because they can pick up these glittery foamy pieces!  16 – 4 anyone?!

 I set up my new math tubs and game pieces to see how I would like them and I even played them with my kids.  My 11 and 12 year old got so excited about the finds!  {I must be raising them right}

If you are needing to prepare for your Spring centers, I have put these new centers on sale.  You can choose math, literacy, or both.  {all on sale}
 10 common core math centers

10 common core literacy centers

or all 20 math and literacy centers together for a discount!

      I noticed that in one of the pictures you have 10 center buckets. Do you have somewhere on your blog where you explain how you run your centers & rotations? Do you have all 10 centers going at one time? I'd love to hear all about how you make things work in your classroom!

      So, I just saw this post and HAD to go to Wal-Mart. I ended up spending about $50 bucks and bought buckets, bunnies, and foam shapes. I'm sure I had more stuff in there but I was SO SUPER excited to find the bunnies. Those were TOO cute! I want to get more! 🙂 They didn't have the little egg bowls but I did go to the Dollar Store and they had these mini tubs that were spring colored and went perfect! I love it all and I'm so glad I came across this post!! You rock!!!
