Yesterday and Today we have been back at work but able to work in our classrooms if our required Summer PD was complete. So I tackled a little project for a behavior incentive. It’s pictured below…
The basic idea is that every student has a gumball. When students display outstanding behavior they get to put their gumball into the gumball machine. If they keep it there until the end of the day, they get a WOW ticket to put in their daily folder.
These WOW tickets are A BIG DEAL because I tell the parents that these equal major reward time at home. Some parents set up a certain number equals a fun outing or a special toy. Some do nothing but the kid gets to go home waving that ticket and it is all they need to hear the praise. I hand them out at the end of the day when we are doing our daily folders. I carry on like they have just won Student of the Year so they know how much I appreciate their efforts. I may only have one or two kids make gumball status in a day. Sometimes I may have more…it varies. Last year I didn’t use this specifically, but I did the same concept. They won Rock Star status and Rock Star notes to take home. Usually I just wrote ROCK STAR on a post it. It worked so well I decided to make it more convenient on myself with this system.
If you want the gumballs, machine, and wow tickets just click {HERE} to download them for free.
I didn’t include the colors because I know every school does their own
behavior colors/system but everything else is included plus a little
surprise for you! 🙂 **also just to let you know. I suggest printing these on plain copy paper because the cardstock is so thick that the magnets have a hard time sticking through the cardstock.**
While in my room I also prepared something to give my students when I meet them next Thursday at Meet the Teacher Night. I used Farley’s Appreciation Tags to create glow stick necklaces!

I have been busy making up the sight word stick activities…..they look so cute. I also made up the fabulous graphing freebie you shared a bit ago, I found these pre made poster board shapes at Michaels so I laminated with your labels so I can reuse. LOVE your ideas and your generosity in sharing, that is what makes this blogging community so special !
You have been a busy lady but it's worth it because everything looks GREAT!! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

Learning Is Something to Treasure
Thank you Lisa!
Wow! You are ready to go! Great ideas! 🙂
your post tonight was fabulous!
Love the seat sacks! My mama is making some for me too…love those sewing mamas! I may have to copy your style. Is the yellow material just cotton?
The seat sacks are denim and then the pocket (yellow) material is duck fabric (like a thick canvas) for durability. I pray they hold up. I spent the extra money on the thick material.
The gumball idea is so cute!
Thanks Erica!
Oh my goodness I love the gumball idea! We do the same colors but I have them in cards that they pull….BORING!! So, with that said I am totally using this! 🙂 Without sounding greedy, since we both use the same color system, is there anyway that I could get the blue, green, red, yellow? Or can you tell me what you used to make them??
Thanks so much!!

Oh, so much goodness and fun all in one place!
I love those glow necklaces… It's a Reagan-Farley combo!
And those seat pockets are simply the best I have ever seen. (I think your mom should start a business on the side.) That chevron detail made it just perfect.
And I am passing your gumball idea on to one of my colleagues. She will be thrilled to have a new strategy to try.
Sending you happy thoughts…

Kim,
Thank you so much for your compliments! I mentioned a side business to my mom the other day and she just about ran away from me. I think I may have over done it a bit for her…

What are the large color circles used for?
That's a warning consequence system similar to a clip chart they move their number if they have so many warnings etc.
Thanks 🙂
I LOVE the gumball idea! That is absolutely adorable and so colorful. I would want my gumball to stay in the machine, that's for sure! 🙂
