I just wrapped up my first packet of reading mini-lessons!
I teach these lessons whole group during my literacy block. While my students are building up their stamina, we have a LOT of time for whole group lessons! I want those lessons to be reading instruction since we are not yet meeting in our small groups at that time!
Once I begin to meet with my students in their small groups I can use these lessons for those groups that need the practice and review of these concepts! These are written step by step so you can grab the card for the day and everything is there!
Teaching reading can be as exciting piece of dark chocolate in the middle of a school day!
{…take my word for it}
Here’s what it looks like:

*Sniffle Sniffle* This was the one Saturday morning when I was up early. Unfortunately (for getting a freebie) I was in the backseat on my way for a fun day trip with friends. I'm totally going to check out the packet though. It looks perfect for some beginning of the year work.
