I don’t know what your last week of school schedule looks like, but for us, there is something everyday that breaks things up and puts the kiddos even more out of whack!
While it is all meant as a means to get through the week, I always feel like the actual class time is awkward and out of balance. (Much like the first week, no?)
So I armed myself with this baby! Click the picture to check it out on TpT. It is also on TN.
I also revamped my free Minute to Win it Games. I do this on the last day of school when the furniture and room look like a barren wasteland. It is a BLAST! There are 7 free games total and hardly any prep. Just one trip to the store for cheap items! Or just check your pantry!
Now Wersty (my librarian) and her brilliant lessons are starting to ripple through our school like wildfire…She is already amazing at “her real job”, but I have been soliciting her for my very own super lessons with my first graders and word has gotten out! She is now being solicited for lessons in other first grade classroom. I agreed to share. …begrudgingly….
Here’s her latest creation that we did this week.
Then they take their “data” and make a “datapillar”!!!!!! Could this be any cuter????!!!!
Next year making datapillars is going to be in my “May Do” activity bucket! I can already see the datapillars about everything we learn! They have asked if they can make a datapillar about penguins and ocean animals already! I love it!
This is the board that started all the controversy. Teacher friends asked where did you get that idea? As soon as I shared, it was ON! To check out this unit click {Here}and to check out Wersty’s blog click {Here}.
I am helping Mrs. Sykes out with her 200 followers giveaway! I was honored to be asked. She is wonderful! To enter to win click her cute button.

Ok, seriously. You're killing me! I suddenly feel completely inadequate! lol!
I can't even say which part of this post I love more. Thanks for the minute to win it games – those will be awesome! And I'm off to tpt right now. I NEED that last week packet! 🙂

Oh my goodness! I just downloaded your Minute to Win It games. I bet you don't do those in your staff lounge at lunch! Haha, we do! It's our official count down the last two months of school, Minute to Win It Thursdays! It's so much fun! I definitely recommend it! Our first and most famous challenge: shaking the ping pong balls out of the tissue paper box belt! Hahaha, it's hilarious! You should definitely bring the challenge games to lunch with you next week! You'll be crying from laughing so hard! 🙂 ~Heidi V.

Learning Is Something to Treasure
OK – Datapillars are AdOrAbLe!!! I've got this die cut that can cut caterpillars out and you can put a pencil through them to stand them up . . . so CUTE. . . .anyway, tell me how many are in your class and send your school's US postal address and I'll overnight them to you for a summer sendoff . . . they could be on your kids' desks the last morning to take home with them . . . just thinking . . .
I'm SO proud of how you continue to positively influence and impact these little learners!

Barbara you are too sweet! How did the Rocket Reading go?
We had an astronaut – Pat Forrester – come to talk with the kids the day before Rocket Reader day as an extra award for EVERY first grader meeting his/her goal – don't you know THAT took a village of volunteers to make that happen!! Then Friday, the mayor of Friendswood came with a proclamation and a word of congrats from the City and everybody had a BLAST!! Thanks for asking.
Reagan, you are so smart! I love how you planned out those academic activities for the last week! I am a bit jealous…I still have 5 weeks! I know I'll be coming back to these posts often towards the end for inspiration–thank you!! 🙂
I LOVE the caterpillars and packet. I have one more week before the last week festivities begin and need some ideas. Perfect!

T.G.I.F. (Thank God it's First Grade!)
Good evening!
Love all that you do! I am looking for yearly lesson plans or something to the affect of long term planning. I noticed that you have a few weeks planned out but did not see the whole year for first grade. Do you have this somewhere for purchasing?
Thank you!
