You may remember my Back to School Top Ten Linky…
Here’s The Top Ten Reasons I know Christmas is Near!
10. I have paper cuts from construction paper, blisters from glue guns, and glitter in places I would rather not mention.
9. I twitch when kids ask me how many days till Christmas…
8. Santa and his naughty list is a daily discussion in my classroom.
7. The teachers on staff no longer have the energy or stamina to talk…we just grunt, eye roll, and sigh as we pass each other in the hall. Nuff said…
6. My trash can, recycle bin, and every inch of my classroom overflows with tiny multi-colored pieces of construction paper scraps, glue stick lids, lidless markers, and broken crayons.
5. Glue sticks are lucky to last a half hour in my classroom. I may be found rocking in the corner saying, “dot, dot not a lot” over and over to myself.
4. Christmas cookies are the new lean cuisine.
3. Outside recess is something we can only dream about from the good ‘ole days…
2. Today I almost said, “If you can hear me slap your neighbor”…because no one can hear me and no one is listening.
And the number 1 Reason I know Christmas is Near….
1. After my creamer with coffee this morning, I drank a thermos of diet coke and then refilled it and drank another thermos of diet coke…

Laughed myself senseless on "If you can hear me slap your neighbor…" You know it's bad when we grunt and eye roll at each other.

lol!!!!! I cannot stop laughing! I think we just hit number 7 ourselves today. When are you out Reagan (sorry if I missed it, I have a hard time keeping track of whose last day is whose). Every year on the last day before the holiday (it's a half day for us) you can literally feel the energy in the school like the roof is going to blow off!!! Love your blog so much!! 🙂
Kristen
Too funny!! But you're right I fall under two or more of those categories! And to think I go to work until next Wednesday…CRAAZZYY!
Gladys
LOVE this! Believe it or not, I go until the 23rd! All day! WITH KIDS!!! I keep waiting for Ashton Kutcher to leap out from behind a bush and tell me I've been Punk'd.
Thanks for this laugh!!! I am taking a personal day tomorrow to recharge my battery because we have school right up to the 23rd!!!! Imagine how crispy we will be after a FULL WEEK before Christmas…..yikes.

Love your list! I think I grunted several times at co-workers today. I've been rolling my eyes for two weeks now! I had to schedule two doctor's appointments to take a day off tomorrow so I could get away from the crazies! Two days next week and I'm done!

Haha!! Number 2 was the best!! I wish we could say that just to help us get through the day a little easier…thanks for the belly laugh!
I LOVE #2!
haha
# 2 is so funny! I love it! However, I actually did have to write a student a discipline referral for slapping another student in the face today so maybe I shouldn't say that….
I can totally relate to all of this… and I absolutely wrote my own. 🙂 LOVE IT! 🙂
HA – thanks for the chuckle. I always tell people at schoo "watch for the twitch"…if you see it, run!
Love your "dot, dot, not a lot" I'm going to steal that. Back in the elmers gooey glue days I used to always say "A dab'll do"….now I have a new one!
You know misery loves company – I'm happy to see there are others here that go all. next. week!!!!!! {We get out on the 22nd – hubby goes until the 23rd}
Hugs,

hahaha! I LOVE number two! how great! we feel your pain!!
Oh my goodness! Too funny! We had a gingerbread Day and I literally ate the entire box before the day was over…minus the ONE I gave each kid. One of them said, "Ms WHite, you're gonna eat all of them" and without hesitation, I heard myself say, "I bought them, so I can eat them!"…but no one heard my reply…they were too busy talking. lol

Number 5 just made me for real laugh out loud! I always start out saying dot dot not a lot and then my voice gets louder at the end each time I have to repeat it so the 50th time I say it through gritted teeth it's more like dot dot NOT A LOT!! Your list and craft are great! Hope you have a well deserved and wonderful break!
Too funny! The passing your coworker with a grunt or smile is sooo true! Hopefully we all make it through this crazy time of year! Thank you for the laugh!
Reagan, that was the best laugh, laugh, LAUGH I have had in SOOOOO long.
My Christmas spirit was fully revived by #2 (incongruous, I know).
Thank you for the happiest moment I have felt all week.
If you can hear me, slap your neighbor…
Yep. Still makes me laugh!
Merry Christmas,
Kim
Finding JOY in 6th Grade
I feel your pain. To be honest, this week we did NOT do anything academic. I was tempted to just put on a movie and call it good. I find myself needing a coke all day long even before school begins. Glad I have one more day left.
Thanks for your extra nice comment on my blog. It's nice to meet YOU! I also love you and this Top Ten list. Lists are among my favorite things in this life. If you decide to have a linky party, I will participate. Anything fun and random, well, I'm all in.
Overuse of glue sticks makes my head spin. I've been known to be in a ball in the corner rocking back and forth and mumbling nonsense because of this very thing too.
Reagan- Just want you to know how much I enjoy your blog! You make me laugh and I have borrowed many of your great ideas. I love getting sneek peeks into other's classroom, and your pictures are that gateway for me. 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing and taking the time to blog! Hope you have a fantastic break!
Ditto and Amen.
Well said, friend, well said.
Oh My Little Classity Class
